Clermont Chamber Annual Dinner Focuses on Early Learning
Don’t miss the Clermont Chamber Annual Meeting and Small Business Development Center Excellence Awards Luncheon on Friday February 6, 2015. Retired Chairman/CEO of the Procter & Gamble Company, John Pepper will be the keynote speaker for this year’s event.
Pepper will be speaking about the importance of early childhood education and how we can work together as a nation to give children the best chance at a good education possible. He will present a solution to the problem, advocate why we should act decisively and encourage businesses to join ReadyNation, a business membership that supports executives to speak to policymakers and the media about improving the economy through effective investments in the children and youth of today.
A graduate of Yale University, Pepper served as the Chairman of the Board at Procter and Gamble from 2000to 2002 and also served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors until December 2003. From January 2004-December 2005, Pepper was the Vice President of finance and administration at Yale University. He served as a fellow of the Yale Corporation from 1995 to 2003, including two years as senior fellow, and also served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Yale School of Management. He now serves on the Board of Trustees of Xavier University. He also serves on the boards of Boston Scientific and Motorola. He is a member of the executive committee of the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative, and he sits on the boards of the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. He was inducted into the Junior Achievement U.S. Business Hall of Fame in 2008.
The Clermont Chamber Annual Meeting is sponsored by: American Modern Insurance Group, Child Focus Inc, Park National Bank, University of Cincinnati Clermont College. Child Focus' CEO, Jim Carter, will be providing information on local Kindergarten Readiness efforts and introducing John Pepper.
